The Nevada State Assembly consists of 42 representatives from across Nevada. Members of the Assembly serve two-year terms.

Lyon County is divided and part is in Nevada Assembly District 38 and part is in District 39.
District 38 includes the eastern part of Lyon County, plus large areas to the north, east, and south of Lyon County District 39 includes the western portion of Lyon County, plus Douglas County. As of 2024, the Assemblyman for District 38 is Greg Koenig, and the Assemblyman for District 39 is Ken Gray.

The Nevada State Assembly consists of 21 representatives from across Nevada. Members of the Senate serve four-year terms.
Regular sessions are every-other-year on odd years and are typically February through June.

Lyon County is entirely within Nevada Senate District 17.
District 17 includes the the counties of Churchill, Douglas, Esmeralda, Lyon, Mineral, part of Nye County As of 2024, the Senator for District 17 is Robin Titus
